Armando Manuel de Mendonça Raimundo is Auxiliary Professor with Aggregation on the Department of Sport and Health of the University of Évora, Doctorate in Human Motricity in 2006, currently holds the position of Counselor at the General Council of the University of Évora, member of the Ethics Commission of the University of Évora, Director of the master’s Course in Exercise and Health and Director of the PhD Course in Human Motricity. Is also member of Scientific Committee of National Physical Activity Promotion Program / Directorate-General of Health.
His research areas are the implementation of exercise programs for various types of pathology carriers, particularly childhood obesity, diabetes, cardiac rehabilitation, as well as to counteract functional and cognitive decline associated with aging and its associated problems (such as falls). Among the various types of program, it has investigated the acute and long-term effects of whole-body-vibration exercise. It has participated in several projects financed by several entities, both nationally and internationally, involving several institutions, either Higher Education, or linked to health services and private companies.
