08 Mar Carlos Eduardo da Silva Teixeira
Eduardo Teixeira holds a PhD in Physical Activity and Health (2017) from Faculty of Sports (CIAFEL) – Porto University, where he investigated the sedentary behaviour effects on the skeletal muscle repair, in an animal model, focusing in the regulatory effects of muscle recruitment on the immune system response. He holds a B.Sc. in Sports Sciences and a M.Sc. in Physical Activity and Health from the same institution.
He is currently addressing two main research fields: exercise in chronic kidney disease (CKD), and non-invasive exercise physiology. He is studying the effects of exercise and physical activity on the skeletal muscle quality and function of CKD patients, and he investigates the scientific value of non-invasive biomarkers as a strategy to monitor acute and chronic exercise-induced alterations.
