08 Mar Mónica Isabel Coelho Silva Matos
Mónica Matos is a PhD student at University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro and a researcher at Research Center in Sports Sciences, Health Sciences and Human Development. Graduated from Polytechnic Institute of Viseu in Sport and Physical Activity in 2013. MSc in Physical Activity for Older Adults at Faculty of Sports at University of Porto in 2015. Attended an Intensive Program on the “Interdisciplinary approaches to the study of ageing” at University of Southern Denmark, Institute of Sports Science & Clinical Biomechanics.
Her main research interest is the impact of physical activity and exercise on ageing effect and related complications. The growing concerns about the ageing populations and health led her to accomplish an internship at Faculty of Health and Life Sciences in Coventry University at United Kingdom in 2016.
She has been collaborating with Diabetes em Movimento – Vila Real, leading physical activity classes for older adults with type 2 diabetes coordinated by the Health Management.
